Flu Fighter Herbal Tincture builds the immune system to prevent colds and flu. Alcohol-free version available, too.
Contains: echinacea, elder berry and flower, chamomile, yarrow, lemon balm, astragalus, pau d’arco and ginger
Flu Fighter for adults made with alcohol is stronger than the one for kids with vegetable glycerin, but they are both very effective to knock out the seasonal flu. Particularly when taken upon the first symptoms of the flu or a cold, Flu Fighter will nip the nasty ailments in the bud. Made with the powerhouse flu remedy elder berries and flowers, Flu Fighter really does the job.
As a long-time teacher of English to immigrant students, I kept Flu Fighter for Kids in my desk. When I saw a student with a runny nose, or a slight cough, I asked them if they wanted to try my tincture. Since many of them had grandmothers who used herbal remedies, they were already familiar with them and willingly took a few drops under their tongue. Soon, the word got out, and students would come and ask me for the tincture whenever they felt the slightest hint of the flu coming on. I actually had very few students out sick and I was never sick in the 23 years that I taught at a public high school.
Elder flowers and berries (Sambucus nigra) were once called “the medicine chest of the country people” for their legendary properties. It was given its name as the wise elder of the herbal family who played a critical role in healing. A tincture of elder berry and flower is very effective for beating back the symptoms of the flu before it compromises the immune system.
The best way to take Flu Fighter is directly under the tongue. Once the flu has set in, the tincture can also be taken in hot water or tea which will mellow out the alcohol taste. It can also be taken in juice. The Flu Fighter for Kids made with glycerin has a sweet taste which kids love. Many friends have shared that their kids will request the tincture when they are sick. So give Flu Fighter a try. You won’t be disappointed!
Ruth’s Flu Fighter Herbal Tincture is a combination of plant extracts that have been handcrafted to create a natural healing formula. Herbal tinctures have been used as “people’s medicine” in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America for centuries. It has only been with the development of modern western (largely American) pharmaceutical influence that herbal remedies, including tinctures, have nearly vanished from our medicine cabinet. However, they are making a comeback along with many other natural forms of healing.
Ruth has found that the mixture of blends, from both eastern and western herbs, produce a synergy whereby the combination creates a whole formula that is more powerful than the individual herbs by themselves. Most health food stores only sell individual tinctures or limited blends. We have found blends (as attested to by various clients) to be much more effective.
The Flu Fighter Herbal Tincture is also available free of alcohol, tinctured in vegetable glycerin, which makes it suitable for kids, pets and those avoiding alcohol for various reasons.
Start with a ¼ of a teaspoon (about a ¼ dropper of a one-ounce bottle) twice daily for a week. Take under the tongue, or dilute with water or tea. Once the herbal potion is in the body’s system, the dosage can be reduced to once a day, depending on the tincture and the severity of the complaint.
Keep cool and out of direct sun light. Shelf life is 3-4 years, but shorter for the alcohol-free version.
